How does a wine taste like cedar? How does a wine taste like leather? Same reasons.

With styrofoam as with any possible aroma in wine, it's a chemical. Tom Stevenson: "Plastic and polythene off-tastes are not uncommon. Possibly benzothiazole or unsaturated olefins."

you definatly have a palate slanted away from washington wines

Actually, I have a palate "slanted away" from certain styles of wine, whether they're made in Washington or Bordeaux, Chile or Tuscany. This is all explained here, just so there's no confusion.thor iversonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16189098900228936573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19631515.post-89358338802913667512007-12-31T07:11:00.000-05:002007-12-31T07:11:00.000-05:00how does a wine taste like styrofoam? you said o.s...how does a wine taste like styrofoam? you said o.s rieling tasted that way. you definatly have a palate slanted away from washington wines.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19631515.post-41051324173920612872007-11-26T16:06:00.000-05:002007-11-26T16:06:00.000-05:00Perhaps. If you read enough of my notes, I think that becomes clear sooner or later. There is a currently popular style of wine that I find unbalanced and somewhat repellent except when very, very well done (and even then, it's not to my tastes...but see the Leonetti note for how I'd express that), and on that score I've left a fairly consistent trail of tasting notes and commentary in various places for about twelve years now.thor iversonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16189098900228936573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19631515.post-21056100491588125592007-11-26T12:18:00.000-05:002007-11-26T12:18:00.000-05:00Wow, I think you were having a bad tasting day.
