There's a fine
article on scent (which is, after all, the "taste" of wine) and the difficulties involved in describing it in the current issue of
The New Yorker. But what really makes it worth the read is the final paragraph...which I guess I'll go ahead and spoil right now:
“The question that women casually shopping for perfume ask more than any other is this: ‘What scent drives men wild?’ After years of intense research, we know the definitive answer. It is bacon.”
Absolutely true.
